Mobile Video Solutions

  • Q: What is a Mobile Video Solution or MVS?

    • A: This is a term used to describe an In-Car Video system.

  • Q: How do I operate this thing?

  • Q: How do I log into the MVS?

  • Q: How many users can be logged-in at one time?

    • A: As many as are needed, however, most agencies only have two logged in at the same time.

  • Q: How do I watch my videos in the car?

    • A: Check out Playback for how to watch from the DVR directly. 

    • A: If you want to watch them after they upload, first watch the training video on Accessing the Assets Page, then watch the training video in View Tab.

  • Q: How many cameras can the DVR support?

    • A: For the VR-X20: Up to 4 IP cameras or 8 analog (depending on the model purchased). 

    • A: For the VR-X20 F1: 2 IP cameras.

  • Q: What resolutions can you record in?

  • Q: How does it upload?

    • A: Wi-Fi.

    • A: 4G LTE (on supported models).

    • A: And/or Ethernet.

  • Q: Can I Livestream it? 

    • A: Yes! All you need is an active Internet connection. See Live Video Page to see how this process works.

  • Q: Does your system work with FirstNet?

    • A: Yes!

  • Q: How many people can live stream a vehicle at one time? 

    • A: As many as your Internet connection can support. This feature can be bandwidth heavy.

  • Q: How many vehicles can I live stream at once?

    • A: As many as your Internet connection can support. This feature can be bandwidth heavy.

  • Q: Where can I get a wiring diagram of the system that I bought?

    • A: For the VR-X20, here.

Note:

  • There are many different configurations of MVS, be sure to look in the correct section for the DVR that you purchased.

  • These diagrams only cover the component connections and DO NOT provide instructions on how to wire power or triggers. Each customer deployment is unique in which triggers are used or how power is connected. Contact for assistance.

  • Q: How do I operate this thing?

  • Q: How do I mount this to my uniform?

    • A: Yes! Each Getac BWC model has an IPX Rating of at least IP67 (30 min in up to 1 m of water).

  • Q: How long does the battery last?

    • A: This is dependent on the desired settings. If you want the highest quality video, you sacrifice battery life. To help offset this, Getac has multiple mobile charging solutions such as the magnetic breakaway cable or extended battery pack to keep your BWCs running as long as possible, as well as suggestions to how they're set up. Consult with a Video Solutions Architect or for help.

  • Q: How do I assign a User to the body camera?

    • A: This is done in Getac Enterprise. Check out Assignments for more details.

  • Q: How do I sync my body camera with my in-car video system?

    • A: Check out Wearables and watch the video.

  • Q: What is Getac Enterprise?

    • A: Getac Enterprise is a DEM system designed for managing large amounts of digital media. It provides security, access control, auditing, and advanced Redaction capabilities to meet the needs of any Agency

    • It is commonly referred to as the: back office, back-end, web portal, web page, Getac portal, or EVM.

  • Q: How do I log in?

    • A: The URL for your Getac Enterprise instance will be provided by the Getac Implementation team at the time of deployment or demo. If unable to locate it, please contact support@getacvideo.com  for assistance.

  • Q: How do I keep my Users logged into their devices permanently?

Accounts using AD sync should consult an internal IT admin for assistance instead of following the instructions in the article above.

    • A: If configured to do so, yes. Access to different video Assets (who sees what) is entirely configurable. Consult a Video Solutions Architect or for assistance in setting up your permissions.
