Introduction
The Getac Mobile Video Solution, or in-car video, typically includes:
- A DVR, such as the VR-X20 or VR-X20 F1.
- CU-D50
- A front-facing camera, such as the NF21-146, NF-22, or NF-42.
- A backseat camera, such as the NF21-146IR
- And optionally either a:
- Wireless microphone
- Body Worn Camera, such as the BC-02, BC-03, or BC-4K
Overview
The MVS is typically controlled via a 5" Touchscreen display (CU-D50) which has several physical buttons that control actions in the software. Certain buttons have multiple uses.
See the image below for an overview of the buttons from left to right:
Power/Covert Mode Button
The power button has three different functions:- Power the system up when fully turned off (Single press).
- Reboot the system (press and hold for 5 seconds).
- Enable/disable Covert Mode.
Home Button
The home button returns the screen to the main menu, regardless of which sub-menu is currently being viewed. See the image below for an example:
+/- Brightness Buttons
The CU-D50 automatically adjusts the brightness level by the amount of ambient light detected. If this level is too bright or dim, use the +/- brightness buttons (in between the Menu and Stop buttons) to manually adjust this level*.
Stop Recording Button
Press and hold to stop any recording in progress.
Start Recording Button
Press once to start a new recording.
Play Button
This button has two functions:
- Press from the main menu to be taken to the Playback screen.
- Press while reviewing a paused video to continue playing.
+/- Volume Buttons
These buttons allow the operator to increase or decrease the volume on the display's built-in speakers.
Mic Mute/Unmute Button
This button allows the operator to mute audio capture while recording. Once pressed, a bookmark for when audio was muted will be placed on the timeline.*
- This button can ONLY control microphones installed in the vehicle. Body cameras must be muted separately.
- This button CANNOT be disabled in configuration.
Camera View Button
This button has two functions:
- Press from the Main Menu to be taken to the Video Capture Screen.
- Press from the Video Capture Screen to cycle which camera is currently displayed.
